Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 June 2026.
Castles of Europe (europecastle.site) is a non-commercial information website. We have designed it to need as little of your data as technically possible. This policy explains what that means in practice and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
The data controller for this website is the editorial team of Castles of Europe. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
Nothing about you is collected, stored or shared by this website itself. We use no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party cookies. We run no user accounts, comment sections or newsletters.
Local storage
The only thing this site stores is a single technical value in your browser's local storage, recording whether you have answered the cookie banner. It contains no personal information, never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data. See our Cookie Policy for details.
The feedback form
Our feedback page does not send anything to a server. When you fill it in and press the button, your browser opens your own e-mail application with the text you wrote. An e-mail reaches us only if you choose to send it. At that point we receive the name, e-mail address and message you typed, solely so that we can read and reply. We keep such correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and never use it for marketing.
Hosting
Like every website, our host's server may automatically process technical connection data such as your IP address in its logs, for the purpose of delivering the pages and keeping the server secure. This is handled by our hosting provider as part of normal operation. We do not combine this data with anything else or use it to identify you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Because we hold no personal data unless you have e-mailed us, in most cases there is simply nothing on file. If you have written to us and want your message deleted, contact us and we will remove it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with an updated date.
